Long exposure shot of light trails on the water.
Shooting from a boat offers unique angles, but it comes with technical challenges: movement, low light, and dirty windows.

  ## 1. Battle the Reflections
If you are on a glass-topped boat, reflections are your enemy.
  * **Lens Hood:** Press your rubber lens hood directly against the glass. This blocks out the interior light.
  * **Wear Black:** Bright clothes reflect in the glass.

  ## 2. Shutter Speed is King
The boat is moving. You are moving.
  * Keep your shutter speed high (at least 1/250s during the day) to freeze the buildings.
  * At night, do NOT use a long exposure unless you want artistic motion blur. Bump your ISO instead.

  ## 3. Composition
Don't just shoot the buildings. Use the boat! Include part of the boat (the bow or a flag) in the frame to give context and depth to the image.

J’ai écrit ce guide pour rendre la croisière sur les canaux simple, éclairante et épurée — comme Amsterdam s’apprécie le mieux.
