Hop-On Hop-Off Boat Amsterdam: Review and Stops

  In many cities, the Hop-On Hop-Off bus is a tourist staple. In Amsterdam, they took it to the water. 

  ## How it Works
  Several lines (Red, Green, Blue depending on the operator) circle the city, stopping at key locations:
  *   Central Station
  *   Anne Frank House / Westerkerk
  *   Rijksmuseum / Leidseplein
  *   Hermitage / Rembrandtplein
  *   NEMO Science Museum

  ## The Verdict: Transport or Tour?
  **It is NOT efficient transport.** A boat is slow. Navigating the locks and canal traffic takes time. Walking or taking a tram is almost always faster.

  **However, it IS a great relaxed day out.**
  If you are not in a rush and want to break up your sightseeing with relaxing boat rides, it's excellent. Buy a 24-hour ticket. Visit a museum, hop on the boat, rest your legs for 40 minutes while listening to the audio guide, get off for lunch, repeat.
